What A Success!
Hello crafters! We hope you've all had a fabulous day and that you've started your week the right way... by crafting!
We have some good and some bad new for you today folks. Beth and Ann-Marie (that's me) have been getting experimental this afternoon, playing around with some mixed media and making some wonderful tags!
They've been learning different techniques to do with using Distress Inks, such as:
- The bleaching technique
- Over-stamping
- And the resist technique
The bad news is that unfortunately we have no pictures of their work in progress or their finished tags because we are having technical difficulties. However! Once we have dealt with the problems we are having we will be posting them on our Facebook and Twitter and we'll notify you at the start of the blog that day :)
Beth said that:
"I really enjoyed doing the mixed media, and especially learning techniques that I have never tried before. My favourite technique was the over stamping because I never would have though of putting images on top of each other to create a really unique and very cool final image. I would definitely buy distress inks and use them in my GCSE art projects at school because they're just really different and you can do so many things with one pad."
Regarding today's experiments, I would say that I'm really proud of what I have created and it's a shame that the pictures won't be up for a couple of day. However, it was so fun learning all these techniques and have a play with blending different colours and using a water brush! My favourite part of it all was using the bleaching technique because you will always get a different result :)
So we think it has turned out to be a pretty successful day so far, and with the ladies working away in this afternoon's workshop, there's sure to be some more great photos to post up soon, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that our ladies have made something that they are happy with in a class that they enjoyed.
